First time opening it

Open the downloaded .dmg and drag settl into Applications.
macOS will warn that it's from an unidentified developer — this is expected, settl isn't (yet) code-signed. Right-click the app in Applications and choose Open, then confirm — this works on most Macs.
If that doesn't work, open Terminal and run: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/settl.app, then open settl normally. Either way, this is only ever needed once.
